There many kinds of buckles of this type on the market, you will probably also need to replace 2 parts of the damaged buckle (male and female). We chose to list a buckle which can be fastened on both sides, to avoid having to do any sewing.

Had a thin strap with carabiner-style clasps for a pouch but wanted a thicker strap with buckles. Got the strap from somewhere else and these buckles from Decathlon worked a treat!

Although at firsts I wasn't sure if it will fit my old Lowe Alpine backpack, once I wore the backpack it fits well and tightens perfectly as needed.
